Interested in Starting One?

Whether or not you want to form an “official” Community Chapter in your area, we want to help you with resources to gather healthcare professionals, residents, and students together. Some of those resources include lists of members we can email, curriculum to share, events that have worked in other areas, and other ideas that have been tried.

To become “official,” you need a core leadership team of at least three people to complete a Leadership Commitment Form & a Chapter Constitution with those names on the Constitution. Both forms can be completed online.

Below are some roles that help create a Community Chapter.

Networker

Do you like to connect with other people in your area?

We need people to gather and rally like-minded Christian Healthcare Professionals at certain times of the year for various reasons (e.g., a speaker in town, needs for students, new residents or professionals to the area).

Core Leadership Team

Numerous areas throughout the country have community chapters that meet regularly. Developing a consistent gathering and actually doing medical ministry and ministry to students takes a team.

A core team of three champions gets any locale to begin a community chapter. Reach out to inquire about how to form such a core team.

The community chapter dropdown lets you know of those communities where there is activity.

Council

Once core teams choose to formalize a chapter with a constitution, they form a larger group that composes a council/board. These chapters have a budget within CMDA, often have staff, and are active in ministry locally and abroad.

If interested, you can either contact your local core team or council to become a part of it or inquire here.

Missions Organizer (local/global)

Often members of councils will hold different responsibilities for the ministry. Regardless of whether one finds themself in an official capacity within a council, each chapter always needs help finding and arranging where and how to do medical missions.
