Doug is married to Joyce.  They have five children and four grandchildren.  A graduate of Amherst College and Cornell Law School, Doug has worked professionally (as a trial attorney) and in ministry (in various roles with the Navigators in the U.S., South Korea and Singapore, and as the current President of Resource Exchange International).

Doug is passionate about seeing God’s Kingdom expand in hard-to-reach places.  In line with that passion, Resource Exchange International sends professionals (both short-term and long-term) to seven closed, developing countries, where they use their skills to train local professionals (in medicine, business, education and agriculture) and advance the gospel.

You will see that the website is sanitized of faith-based jargon.  This is intentional.  REI enters “closed” nations to bring training (by Christian professionals) to them.  In doing so, relationships and trust is built to advance the gospel, share Christ’s love, and nurture seeds of faith over time.  

At least one of our members has gone on a short-term trip with REI (to Vietnam) and there are plans to consider sending a multi-disciplinary team of medical professionals from among our CMDA chapter to Vietnam, perhaps in a little over a year.
