Subject: What to do with all this $$$ for CMDA students?! NatCon Scholarships available!
What to do with $15,000?!?
I put out a plea to physicians, dentists, and other healthcare professionals to donate money to scholarships for students to go to the CMDA National Convention April 23-26 in Loveland, CO just a few weeks ago. As a result, we have over $15,000 dedicated to student scholarships.
This is less than half of the students who attended NatCon 2025.
It Doesn’t Matter What Year You are in Your Training

Fourth Year: ‘…this year has been somewhat of a spiritual desert for me, and I went to the National Convention with a hope for personal spiritual revival. One of the plenary themes was “The Gospel,” which was exactly what I needed to hear more about…this gave me such hope because I felt like I had come to the end of myself, and I saw how my love for God was lacking in so many ways…the Convention was a delightful experience, exactly what I was needing.”
Third Year: it changed my life, and I feel more prepared to be a faithful witness during residency.
Second Year: All of this strengthened my resolve in pursuing medicine as the Lord has called me … [I] connect[ed] with so many great people and learn so much about what it means to be a Christian physician.
First Year: this experience came at a formative and timely point in my journey. I serve on the CMDA student leadership team at my campus, and opportunities like NatCon are truly life-giving. It was deeply refreshing to step into a space where Christ is at the center—surrounded by others who share a desire to live out their faith through medicine (Matthew 18:20). The weekend renewed my sense of calling and reminded me of the bigger picture of why I chose this path.

Why So Vital for the Western Region to Attend This Year?
Bottom line: It’s in our region!This is the first CMDA NatCon in the Western Region in 15 years. If we want more NatCons in the future in our region, we need to show up for this one!
It’s simply voting with our feet.
Let’s Get 50 Western RegionStudents/Residents to NatCon from at least 20 schools!
