Within the first six months of serving with CMDA, I knew it was too big a region to lead by myself. It will always be, honestly. However, dividing the region into smaller areas made it seem palatable, at least. Wrapping my head around one area at a time has given me peace and direction to focus on one area at a time.
The five areas are:
- Pacific Northwest
- Northern California, Nevada, and Hawaii
- Southern California
- Desert
- Mountain
The reason for this breakdown? The number of schools, the number of community chapters, and simple geography.
We already had two regional student leaders who worked with others in each region, so the vision was to establish student leaders in each area to support the various schools’ leaders in each area. The last two years, we have had three areas with representation, but I’m excited to share that this year we have a full house! Please praise God with me and pray for them:
