A Giant Sequoia
It was not long after beginning this role that I said, I need help wrapping my arms around this giant sequoia called the Western Region. To that end, I quickly divided the region into 5 areas.
Michael McLaughlin, my predecessor who served in the role for forty year (yes, 4-0), is continuing to serve as an Area Director for the Pacific Northwest (I include Alaska in that, but Michael is just working with Oregon and Washington).
Positioned in NorCal, it makes the ministry here somewhat supported by me. Brian and Sharon Stoudt are positioned in Phoenix, AZ, which covers the majority of ministry in the desert (sans Tuscon, Vegas, St. George and New Mexico). That leaves the mountain and SoCal needing staff.
My hope would be to hire someone to serve as an Area Director for each of the 5 areas outlined.
