About the Topic: Lessons on Resilience, Stress, and Burnout from 80 years ago
· Might the youngest commissioned Army officer in WWII have anything to teach us about resilience?
· Could a teenage war hero, who gave a leg and almost his life, actually coach and educate modern health professionals about flexibility and pliability?
· Is it possible that a young man, while becoming one of the most decorated front-line officers in the European war while fighting day-and-night, would perhaps have something to tell us about burnout?
· Do you suspect that a young soldier, sent alone on a top-secret mission to save the world-famous Lipizzaner (white dancing) stallions, might possibly have a lesson or two to share about stress in the face of life and death decisions?
Walt Larimore, a member of our local CMDA chapter for almost 25 years, will share with us the wonderful lessons he learned on these subjects and that he has applied to his life and work, while spending over 15 years researching and writing his multi-award-winning book, At First Light: A True World War II Story of a Hero, His Bravery, and an Amazing Horse.
You can see a trailer and an interview about the book here, learn more about the book here, and see the book’s amazing endorsements here. The book will be available for signing (check, cash, or Venmo only) at the event .
Here is more information about Dr Larimore.
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. ~ Hebrews 10:23-25
To Him Be The Glory,
